Rejected Impasto Painting

This is how this painting looked when I gave up last night at MOCA. The attempt was to use a heavy impasto of thick paint to render the figure, so that the painting has a pronounced texture that catches the light in an exciting way, but I think there will be a long learning curve on this technique. I will add a link to Scott Burdick, a master at this.
