Painting on a Shoestring

For a year or so I have been making my own panels to paint on, at a cost of pennies per panel. They have 3 coats of gray gesso, sanded between coats, so the surface ends up very smooth. Most of these panels will be used to fulfill a commission for 6 still lifes, all with the same subject. Cupcakes!

Are you taking any orders? I could use some wonderful panels for pennies and everything I've made has been rough, not square, not so useful.

Sorry, George's Artarama I am not, but I could show you how to do square cuts and smooth gesso finishes...

Your nephew is impressed by your use of hearing protection. Right on!
Also, if I had only grown up closer to you I could be so good at building things by now... (no offense, Dad!)

I coulda used some help on some of those big sculptures, Daniel, but your Dad has the better approach- make a bunch of money and have folks build stuff FOR you!
