To the River

Our class this summer is quite small which means Walt is able to spend a lot of time with each of us. This painting was quite different before Walt suggested a "bridge" composition, so-termed because it is like a view seen through the arch of a bridge (or so I understand it). Thus you have similar elements on right and left, and something different in the middle, which naturally pulls in your eye.
