Old Car Out to Pasture

Oil on canvas, 18 x 24 inches (46 x 61 cm)

This painting needs some more work. The subject is difficult because every part of the scene is washed by strong sunlight, with no shadowed areas with which to contrast the brightly lit parts. I like the theme, though, with the car forever hopeless of charging up the hill confronting it. By the way, the car seems to be a circa 1960 Peugeot 403:
