Figure Color Study

Oil on paper, 16 x 20 inches (41 x 51 cm) With this painting I squeezed out the palette of colors used by Nelson Shanks, 23 colors in all, far more than I usually use. The array of reds at hand, plus phthalo turquoise, saved it from total ho-humness.
