Mamas, don't let your babies grow up to be...

...artists!

Here I am not just not painting, I am un-painting, scraping textured paint off our dining room ceiling. The textured paint was someone's attempt to hide the miserable condition of the plaster in this room as it has existed for the past 90 years or so. Presently, some weeks after this photo was taken, I am in the process of skim-coating the walls and ceiling with multiple layers of new plaster on the way to acheiving smooth, even surfaces on which to hang my paintings (maybe).
