Charcoal Portrait of Bill Hutton
Charcoal on gray paper, 16 x 12 inches (41 x 31cm)
I arrived at the session all set to continue my painting, Bill the Wizard, only to find that I had left my paints at home! I keep my palette of paints in the freezer and it is hard to remember to swing by the kitchen on the way out the door. But one thing I have learned is to always have drawing materials in my car in case they are needed, as they were last night.
This model seemed kind of familiar, and it turns out that he had modeled for Robert Liberace and I remembered his face from some of Rob's paintings. Here is an example.
