Earth in Charcoal & Chalk

Charcoal on toned paper, 12 x 9 inches (30 x 23 cm)

I continue to struggle with this strangely lighted figure. Particularly troublesome is the nose, a feature that usually catches the light but in this case has a dark shadow running down the middle.
