Sarah's Back - Day 1 of 2

 

This painting is on linen rather than my usual canvas surface. It has a very nice texture.

I got the roll of linen through an eBay auction. The seller in California was getting rid of her 90-year-old mother's art supplies because the mother was finally retiring from painting. I hope I can paint up to that age, too, assuming I live that long!

At the end of the big roll of fabric was a newspaper page from a New York newspaper, dated 1971. The cloth seems fine, though it is very reluctant to lie flat after 42 years of being rolled up!
