Glamorous

With this portrait I tried something a little different. Beginning with a white board instead of my usual medium-gray gesso, I did an underpainting in brown acrylic, mapping out the dark areas of the image and leaving the white board to define the light areas of  figure's skin. This meant that it was much easier to bring up the values in the light areas because I was not fighting an underlying gray color.
