A Glass of Red

Oil on panel, 10 x 8 inches (25 x 20 cm)

Gearing for my annual holiday card, with the usual "Santa's snack" theme. Perhaps this year Santa will enjoy a nice red wine, or maybe a bourbon on the rocks, along with some slices of beef, or cheese, or maybe some oysters?

This is truly fantastic. I may have to buy for Mark! I love it....

Thanks, Jody! The painting actually looks a bit better in the photo than in reality, but I will be doing more like it, maybe of both glass and bottle. Today I picked up a good-looking bottle of red wine, and if I'm lucky the contents will be okay, too!

This looks great George! I am truly impressed with your skill. I've heard that paintings with glass in them sell well ;) Hope it's true for you!

You have heard the very useful admonition to "Paint what you see," (rather than what you recognize)? Maybe when rendering glass the advice should be, "DON'T paint what you DON'T see!"
